Going Places with Liz Alexandria

Welcome to a new show on Mix 106 called Going Places. Through this programme we will be travelling across the globe with many different sounds from all the continents. World music has so much more to

offer than you’d expect. There are so many music styles from so many different cultures that the list of styles and fusions could go on and on. Initially, due to the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest we will be bringing you music from across Europe with the some of best entries, including Australia: apparently that country has moved location!

After Eurovision we will travel further afield with some of the many sounds from Africa, India, the Middle East, Central America and the Carribean to name but a few: incorporating styles like Raï, Afro Blues, Gnawa, Sha’abi as well as the better known sounds of Bollywood, Banghra, Latino, Reggae, Calypso and folk.There will be features on different artists or individual countries with much more to follow.
